This month, join the Museum of North Texas History as we explore the history of our county’s halls of justice with Session #2 of the Bite of History: History in Place series – the Wichita County Court House.
Presented by MNTX CEO Jeremy Davis, and hosted by Wichita County Precinct 1 Commissioner Mark Beauchamp, this month’s program will dive into the history of the over a century old Fields and Clarkson and Sanguinet & Pate designed structure that has served the people of Wichita County since 1916. Learn of the famous cases, the infamous “remodel”, and the plans for the future of one of Wichita’s most historic buildings.
Whether its true crime, architecture, or just unique local history… there’s sure to be something for everyone at this month’s program!
Bite of History will be Thursday, August 20th in Room 500. Doors open at 11:30am and presentation starts promptly at 12:00pm. Due to security of the Court House, please arrive early to clear security and remember to leave things not allowed in the Court House in your vehicle or at home. (i.e. pocket knives, firearms, etc.)
Tickets are $10 for MNTX Members and $15 for the general public. Due to limited space and History in Place Season Ticket sales, only 15 individual tickets are currently available for this month’s presentation. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Museum or online.
