SUMMARY:A Bite of History
DESCRIPTION:The Bloody Massacre \nBoston’s Deadly Start of the American Revolution \nOn a cold night in early March of 1770\, a dustup by British Colonials in the streets outside the Boston Customs House became the unsuspecting flashpoint that many argue was the start of one of the most audacious actions in world history… the American Revolution. \nWhat started with snowballs ended in gunfire and the death of five Bostonians. Stoked by the\niconic engraving by Paul Revere\, the moment became a rallying point for a people ready for\nchange. \nJoin us for part one of our three-part series “Road to Independence – Three Sparks That Ignited a Revolution” as MNTx celebrates America 250 with this special speakers series. Presented by award-winning historian and Museum of North Texas History CEO\, Jeremy Davis\, Road to Independence is a great way to kickoff a historic summer! \nThis month’s Bite of History is Thursday\, April 30th. Doors open at 11:30am and presentation starts promptly at 12:00pm. \nTickets are $10 for MNTx Members and $15 for the general public. Tickets are expected to go fast\, with only 40 tickets available for this month’s presentation. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Museum or online

SUMMARY:A Bite of History
DESCRIPTION:Daughters of Liberty \nWomen of the American Revolution \nOften overshadowed by their male counterparts\, the Daughters of Liberty played a vital role in the fight for American independence. This month’s presentation explores how Patriot women organized behind the scenes to resist British oppression through boycotts\, homemade goods\, and community action. From spinning bees and tea substitutes to direct involvement in Revolutionary events\, these women proved that political resistance was not limited to the battlefield. Join us to learn how figures like Abigail Adams and countless unnamed women helped shape the course of the American Revolution through determination\, resourcefulness\, and collective action. \nJoin us for Part Two of our three-part series “Road to Independence – Sparks That Ignited a Revolution” as MNTx celebrates America 250 with this special speakers series. Presented by historian and Museum of North Texas History Curator\, Leanne Ray\, Road to Independence is a great way to kickoff a historic summer! \nThis month’s Bite of History is Thursday\, May 28th.
