SUMMARY:A Bite of History
DESCRIPTION:Twisted Love in North Texas \nHometowns love to be known for unique landmarks\, memorable events\, or famous residents\, but Wichita Falls may forever be known for a chilling distinction – it’s the birthplace of a cold-blooded serial killer. Meet Jack – once a U.S. Army Sergeant\, now a man whose name is linked with murder. A master manipulator and a brutal killer\, Jack’s preferred victims weren’t just strangers – they were his wives. \n“Till death do us part” wasn’t just a vow he made at the altar. For Jack\, it was a contract – one he intended to fulfill no matter the cost. As his wives grew tired of his dark side\, Jack made sure he kept his promise\, ensuring that “till death” was always part of the deal. From the altar to the grave\, Jack’s twisted love story is one that Wichita Falls may never forget. \nJoin us Oct 30th as Dr. Pam Morgan shares one more… Bite of History. Seating is limited to 36 guests. \nTickets are $10 for MNTx Members and $15 for the general public. \nDon’t miss your chance to take A Bite of History – one lunch at a time!

SUMMARY:A Bite of History September 2025
DESCRIPTION:The City National Bank Robbery of 1896 Swift Retribution. They died with their boots on. \nPremonitions\, Texas Rangers\, Outlaws\, a Posse\, a Comedy\, and a cast of unlikely heroes all play a role in the story of the City National Bank robbery of 1896 and the notorious hanging that followed. Wichita Falls wasn’t the wild west\, but it wasn’t far from it. Newspapers across the state criticized the citizens and residents of North Texas for taking the law into their own hands by dealing with the bank robbers their way. Unapologetic\, the community stood firmly behind their decision and even tossed criticism back at the state. It was an event that would be talked about for decades\, and swift retribution that sent a clear message to all outlaws. Meet the characters and learn the locations where one of our most infamous events took place. \nPresenter for September is:\nMr. John Yates\, Wichita County Historical Commission \nDoors open at 11:30am
